Statement as of 10:01 PM CST on February 09, 2010 ... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon CST Wednesday... A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow remains in effect until noon CST Wednesday. * Timing... blowing snow will continue to be a hazard through noon Wednesday. * Accumulations... no significant accumulations are expected. * Wind... winds will become northwest and increase to 20 to 30 mph with higher gusts after midnight. * Impacts... blowing and drifting of the light powdery snow will lead to hazardous conditions tonight into tomorrow morning as County roads and lightly traveled secondary roads drift. Expect rapid changes in visibility over short distances. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that visibilities will be limited due to strong winds blowing snow around. Use caution when traveling... especially in open areas. |
