...Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST Monday...

Hazardous weather...

* light to moderate snow will expand across Southeast Michigan through the morning period.

* Snowfall will increase in intensity during the afternoon and evening hours. Snow will be moderate to heavy at times...with snowfall rates up to an inch per hour.

* Snow will continue into tonight...tapering off early Monday morning.

* Total accumulation of 10 to 14 inches.

* Blowing and drifting snow this afternoon through tonight.

* Wind chill falling to about 10 below zero tonight.

Impacts...

* snow covered roads and reduced visibility resulting in dangerous conditions for travel and outdoor activity.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow is expected or occurring. This will make travel and outdoor activity very hazardous.

...Winter Storm Warning in effect today through 7 am Monday...

Weather...

* moderate snow will continue over the region during the late morning...and pockets of heavier snow will become more numerous toward noon.

* New snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected between 9 am and noon.

* Northeast winds around 10 mph with gusts to 20 mph.

* Air temperatures will range between 20 and 25 degrees.

Impacts...

* untreated roads will become increasingly snow covered particularly on bridges...exit ramps...and overpasses.

* Snow will cause reductions of visibility below one mile. There will be rapid fluctuations of visibility for motorists.

* motorists are urged to use caution and account for deteriorating driving conditions by reducing speed and allowing extra time.
