Areal Flood Warning
Statement as of 12:09 PM CDT on July 21, 2014

...Flood Warning remains in effect for northeastern Koochiching and extreme northwestern St. Louis counties until 400 PM CDT Friday...

At 1209 PM CDT...flooding continued due to high water levels on Rainy Lake. The water levels of Rainy Lake at the water survey Canada gauge near Fort Frances have receded 6 inches since July 13. The Lake of The Woods control board forecasts lake levels to recede another 5 to 7 inches by July 28.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...shoreline locations along Rainy Lake.

While high water is impacting the area...many area resorts remain open for business. Several campsites at Voyageurs National Park have reopened...however some sites remain closed until further notice.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Report flooding to the nearest law enforcement agency so that they may take appropriate action to close flooded roadways. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service in Duluth MN.
