...Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 1 PM EST this afternoon...

* locations...Bluefield West Virginia through far southwestern Virginia into the mountains of North Carolina.

* Hazard types...light freezing rain.

* Accumulations...ice accumulations will be less than one tenth of an inch.

* Timing...until 1pm today.

* Impacts...light icing may cause travel difficulties. A light accumulation of ice...mainly on tree limbs and elevated surfaces is possible.

* Winds...southeast 5 to 10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

* Temperatures...in the lower to mid 30s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow...sleet...or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities...and use caution while driving.
