... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 1 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday for
Lake Tahoe...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a lake Wind
Advisory for Lake Tahoe... which is in effect from 1 PM to 11 PM
PDT Monday.

* Winds: southwest winds will increase to 15 to 25 mph with gusts
as high as 40 mph in the afternoon.

* Wave heights: increasing to 2 to 4 feet for the afternoon and
evening. The highest waves will be on the north and east shores
from Kings Beach to Zephyr Cove.

* Boats will be prone to capsizing or swamping and should remain
off lake waters until conditions improve.

Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 2:02 PM PDT on May 20, 2012

... Red flag warning in effect from 1 PM to 11 PM PDT Monday for
gusty wind and low humidity for the western Nevada Sierra front...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a red flag warning
for gusty wind and low humidity... which is in effect from 1 PM to
11 PM PDT Monday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Affected area... fire zone 450 western Nevada Sierra front.

* Winds... southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph by early
Monday afternoon. Gusts to 45 mph are possible in wind prone
areas such as Washoe Valley and Galena.

* Humidity... falling to 10 to 15 percent for the afternoon and
early evening.

* Impacts... the combination of gusty winds and low humidity will
create critical fire weather conditions Monday.
