Statement as of 9:31 PM EST on February 09, 2010 The Flood Warning continues for the upper Santee river at trezesvants Landing. * Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 8 PM Tuesday the stage was 83.8 feet. * Flood stage is 80.0 feet. * Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will continue to fall to a stage of 83.5 feet by after midnight. 931 PM EST Tue Feb 09 2010 The Flood Warning continues for the Congaree River at Carolina Eastman. * Until Saturday evening... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 9 PM Tuesday the stage was 120.3 feet. * Flood stage is 115.0 feet. * Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will continue to fall... going below flood stage by Friday night. * At 119.0 feet... extensive flooding occurs in the Congaree National Park. Some area farmland is flooded. Minor flooding occurs at the Carolina Eastman facility. 931 PM EST Tue Feb 09 2010 The Flood Warning continues for the Congaree River at Sandy Run. * Until late Wednesday night... or until the warning is cancelled. * At 8 am Tuesday the stage was 24.0 feet. * Flood stage is 23.0 feet. * Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * Forecast... the river will continue to fall... going below flood stage by tomorrow morning. * At 24.0 feet... several homes in the Sandy Run subdivision along the river become flooded. |

Expect winds to become west and increase tonight to 15 to 25 knots on area lakes. Winds will increase Wednesday throughout the region with windy conditions developing. Expect west winds of 30 to 35 mph... with higher gusts up to 40 to 45 mph. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing. A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles.
