A record rainfall of 1.7 inches was set at the Tri-Cities Airport yesterday. This breaks the old record of 1.47 inches set back in 1985.

Start date: 07 27 2014 start time: 558 PM EST start location: 3 NW Speedwell / Campbell County / TN start_lat/lon: 36.4695 / -83.9766

End date: 07 27 2014 end time: 602 PM EST end location: 1 S Speedwell / Claiborne County / TN end_lat/lon: 36.4368 / -83.9034

Survey_summary: numerous trees uprooted and snapped along the entire path. Structural damage varied from minor to extensive with the most significant damage noted in the Speedwell area near the end of the track. The National Weather Service would like to thank Campbell County emergency management and Claiborne County emergency management for their efforts in assisting with the survey.

Ef scale: the Enhanced Fujita scale classifies tornadoes into the following categories.
