...Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon EST today...

* event...rain or a mix of rain and snow will gradually transition to all snow early this morning...resulting in accumulations of 1 to 2 inches in areas mainly above 1500 feet...with a few higher amounts along the peaks of the Smoky Mountains. Lower elevations may receive lighter amounts.

* Timing...early this morning through midday.

* Impacts...roads and other surfaces may become slick and hazardous.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow are expected or occurring...but accumulations are expected to be light. Driving and walking may be difficult on untreated roadways and sidewalks. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities. If you must travel...slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination.
