...Patchy frost possible west of the Blue Ridge...

Light winds and clearing skies overnight will allow temperatures to cool into the middle 30s west of the Blue Ridge...with lower 30s possible at some of the higher elevations. These conditions may lead to some patchy frost developing by daybreak. Growers should cover tender vegetation or bring plants inside to avoid cold injury.

The high temperature at Danville VA yesterday was 52 degrees...which is a new record for the lowest maximum temperature for April 25. The old record was 53 degrees set in 1995. Official records at Danville VA date back to 1948.

The high temperature at Blacksburg VA yesterday was 46 degrees...which is a new record for the lowest maximum temperature for April 25. The old record was 48 degrees set in 1974. Official records at Blacksburg VA date back to 1952.

The high temperature at Lewisburg, WV yesterday was 44 degrees...which is a new record for the lowest maximum temperature for April 25. The old record was 46 degrees set in 2000. Official records at Lewisburg WV date back to 1973 for temperatures.
