Wind Chill Advisory
Statement as of 8:26 PM CST on December 05, 2013
... Wind Chill Advisory remains in effect until 9 am CST Friday...
* temperatures... generally in the single digits and teens below
zero overnight and Friday morning.
* Winds... west from 10 to 15 mph... with a few gusts to 20 mph in
open or exposed areas... and on higher terrain.
* Wind chill readings... as cold as 25 below to 30 below after
midnight tonight through mid morning Friday. Coldest values over
* Frostbite time... 25 to 30 minutes on any exposed skin.
A Wind Chill Advisory means that very cold air and strong winds
will combine to generate low wind chill readings. This could lead
to hypothermia and eventually frostbite if precautions are not
taken. If you must venture outdoors... make sure you wear a hat
and gloves to negate the effects of the wind.. be sure pets limit
outdoor time or are given adequate outdoor shelter from the wind.

The NOAA Weather Radio transmitters in Littlefork and Elephant Lake
in Koochiching and northern Saint Louis counties require
maintenance. The issues with the transmitters could cause
intermittent interference with NOAA Weather Radio through at least
tonight until the issues can be resolved sometime Friday.
