... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST Thursday...
A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7 am EST Thursday.
An Arctic front blowing through the area before midnight will be accompanied by brief wind gusts that could exceed 40 mph... in a snow squall that reduces visibilities to under a quarter mile. In addition to a quick coating... temperatures falling rapidly below freezing will cause a quick freeze of moisture on roads.
In the wake of an Arctic front... snow will affect the area overnight and Wednesday. Gusty northwest winds over 30 mph at times will cause some blowing and drifting of the snow Wednesday.
Total snow accumulations for the event will generally range from 2 to 6 inches... before snow tapers off later in the day Wednesday.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving... especially beginning tonight.
