A grand looking sunrise, giving over to overcast skies, the norm for the day it seems. The wind has flunked, temp a cool 4C, conditions to remain cool and sunny breaks for the next few days.
Harbour very quiet, not a bird to be seen, brant must have left with none of the usual build up of the group before they left.
Donna on the boat this morning, a much better day to travel across the Bay.
Some boats working yesterday, not a lot of whitewater, however long and heavy swells were certainly in evidence.

Sunny with southerly 10-15mph breeze. Normally I would be out hauling but there is still a good roll outside and a bigger roll closer to shore, which is where I want to be. A few of the outside boats are out but not really liking it too much.
The rains of the first part of the week have not all run off. We have lots of big puddles everywhere. The slugs have started to show up in the roads so the gardens must have them allready
Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day on the water.

Those big swells will make it a a rough trip on the ferry for those who suffer from motion sickness.
Enjoy the day.
Did you get a chance to go to Deep Cove to see the swells? They are huge there even when it is calm. Can't imagine storm situation. Gerald probably made it, although if it rained as hard there as it did here I would not wish him on the road.
Speaking of swells - Took a drive down the Lower Norton Shore last night. We are at flood stage over-night. All the duck nests destroyed, muskrats displaced, etc. What a mess. Hopefully, all can rebuild and renest. There were swells on the river, which is not something I have ever seen to any significance before. Streams that were hardly visible were running over the road because the culverts couldn't handle it. The twin falls - which is our ice climbing wall in the winter - was unbelievable. You could hear them half a mile away before you even got there. Should have wore more on feet than flip-flops. Would have liked some pictures.
Today we had sun to start now clouded over. Still warm.
On the kid front - rent-a-daughter called to say she scored a Federal Government Job at the Potatoe Research Council for the summer. She is finishing 3rd year. She has now successfully scored herself a good paying job for the rest of her life if she wants it. Once you are 'in' with the feds, you are always 'in'. Good news for one kid at least.
Well, have a great day. Word. Chunsk.
