Voice to Text---
.Looking down into the Sea this morning I can see that we have had another 24 hours free of any clouds in the Sea of Cortez.
Looking south to the Mexican Riviera I can see that there was some light thunderbumper activity back in the mountings to the east of Puerto Vallarta and the remnant clouds are drifting toward Cabo Corrienties and off shore this morning. There does not appear to be much in the way of moisture in these clouds now.
Looking further south to the Tehuantepec where the Gulf is currently clear of any cloudiness and there are none in the close vicinity so it looks like the Gulf will enjoy a pleasant day with light southern breezes forecast for this afternoon.
Looking now at the ITCZ/Monsoon trough that is pretty much snaking along 8N this morning. It is very active. There is an elongated low embedded within the zone that is very active. It is not forecast to develop into anything tropical but I’ll be keeping it on the back burner in our tropical kitchen for a few more days though.
Well there is not much else going on in our hood so looking now north to the west coast of America where as I mentioned the high pressure over the western conus will have several weak fronts move in from the Pacific. None of these will have much affect except to cool things off a bit as they pass. The exception is Washington State where they could see some light showers from a system moving through later in the week.
In the meantime the west coast will be enjoying seasonal May weather with temps in the low to mid 70s along the coast and mid to high 80s inland.
Southern California will be swapping our Grey May for June Gloom in a couple of days as fog continues to hug the southern California coastline until mid morning before retreating.
Looking now over to the southwest where the temperatures will be cranking up. By this weekend the Tucson area will be seeing temperatures as high as 106. Yuma sitting under that building thermal low will be in the 108 ranges. This weekend a cooling trend is anticipated into early next week along with continued dry conditions. Herferd was 8% early this morning.
Well, that’s what is going on to the north of us. Back on this side of the Fence, in general, the next three days the winds should be in the moderate ranges with the exception of the Sonoran coast on Thursday. Right now it looks like they will be seeing ballpark 20 knot West or NW winds.
Today the northern Sea will see moderate southerlies, Wednesday and Thursday from the north.
The central Sea Today, Wednesday and Thursday should see moderate northerlies most likely NE.
The 3-day forecast period for the southern Sea will be light NW winds to continue in the afternoons. Also it looks like the La Paz area will be seeing moderate Cormwells again as the sunsets this evening.
Right now it looks like this great weather will continue into the weekend.
