Thirsty Thursday
Posted by: TheRasberryPatch, 12:43 PM GMT on May 17, 2007 +0
Who isn't ready for a drink after this afternoon. Usually by this evening I like to have at least a beer to quench my thirst. We got 1/3 of an inch of rain yesterday. Not bad, but we need a few more of those to make it into June. If the dry pattern stays with us, I will guess by mid June most grass will be brown. I hope not. I love a nice lush green grassy yard and I love to cut the grass. I am finally starting to see some potato plants pushing up through some ground cover weeds. All that tilling must have brought up the weed seeds to germination. Unless it was the organic fertilizer that had the seed in it. Hmmmm. Makes me wonder.

Hump Day of Change
Posted by: TheRasberryPatch, 1:30 PM GMT on May 16, 2007 +0
Looks like another dry spring in this area. At least a dry May. We have gotten 0.30" for the month and the end of April wasn't that wet either. The grass was looking so good earlier, but you can see all over the area brown spots in the lawn. I hope it changes for the better here on the east coast, especially in the south where fires are out of control. I think up and down most of the east coast is in danger. We do have a cold front coming through that might give us some rain today. It was certainly warm yesterday with a bit of wind. It definitely changed your golf game playing with the breeze, probably at 10-15mph.

A very nice weekend
Posted by: TheRasberryPatch, 2:25 PM GMT on May 07, 2007 +0
Well, another working weekend comes to an end. I got the vegetable garden started. That took longer than I expected. At least it is in. the weather was great. Saturday got in the low 70's and Sunday was cooler with a very windy start to the day, but still a sunny bright day. We ended the day, Sunday, going to Hersheypark. We love going there on a late Sunday afternoon getting something to eat and putting the kids on rides. Then we ended the evening with a big cone to share from Cold Stone. Mmmmmmmmmmm. The park just opened this weekend and when we arrived the park had very little amount of people. There were 3 rides my daughter got on and she was the only one riding. It was a good time.
I am starting to see the light with all the outside work and cleanup around the house. Not too much more and I won't have to spend my weekends working.
Have a good week.

Dry Weather
Posted by: TheRasberryPatch, 8:44 PM GMT on May 03, 2007 +0
It appears that a frost advisory is in effect for tomorrow morning. It is amazing how dry the weather has been lately. The humidity as of now at 1640 is 27%. That is usual for January or February. We haven't even gotten above 80 for the year which seems unusual. The pool is set and ready to go except for the water temp being in the mid 60's and air temps getting to 70F. I would like to run the heater for the pool, but until the air temps get into the 80's it would be a waste of energy.
