Did you know that you can see WunderPhotos on the WunderMap?

The WunderPhotos that have been uploaded and approved on our site can now be viewed in the geographical location that the photographer claimed the photo was taken.

The default settings show 25 photos that were taken Today -- and yes, you can increase that number up to 50, and choose a different date.

Additionally, there are controls to:

show photos from an entire month, as opposed to a specific day. (In
this case, VIP and Approver's choice photos are given priority).

show photos from a certain category

show photos that were taken by a certain member ('handle')

On the WunderMap, enable the "Photos" layer in the Map Controls, here.

As usual, if you want to report an issue, please create a problem ticket in the support system.

a little too harsh on the admins there Taz. They do maintain the blogs from time to time to make sure the things worked. This slowdown probably was just an overloaded server. I mean there were tornadoes, blizzards/heavy snow, river floods, and an erupting volcano for possibly a lot of people to try to connect here to get information.

Hi I got a trouble report through to admin yesterday. They answered me.It just took time to fix the problem. That's life. I think they try. :)

Well Taz, we do still care, I promise. :) We had a problem with a very important piece of hardware that started on Friday night. We got it into a semi-stable, but degraded state by early Saturday morning and decided to knock off for a few hours sleep. We spent pretty much the entire day trying to debug the problem on Saturday. By mid evening we had switch over to alternate hardware, which should have clear up most of the issues. This morning, after some much needed sleep, we found what we believe to be the root cause of the initial problem. System stability should be high from here on out. I want to appologize for the service problems, but again say thank you for reporting issues to support, sending notes about particular services affected, and being patient while we worked it out.

Any special press release type thing coming on the addition of more of these 'high definition' radars? I noticed many are in somewhat different locations than their parent radars. Too bad that one in St. Louis couldn't have been placed slightly farther west, then maybe it'd work for me.

Hi! I can not find any info on how to set up a weather station to be used by the website "weather underground" promoting this blog as "developers blog". I found a place just down the road from me, on this weather underground, with webcam and detailed maping of everything to do with the weather. I would like to participate and set up another weather station, but do not know how. Please advise, thanks chris

WundergroundDevs- When did the photo gallery change? I like it very much especially the comment section and the general modern uniform look to it. Great job!

I like it, too! The photos show much better without that bulky frame around them. The series thumbnails weren't where I expected - they are at the bottom, below the comment section, which is also an awesome idea! Being able to comment instead of wumail a photog without a blog is great :)

The new look is EXCELLENT and so far, all new approaches, including the WunderPhotoBOT (LOVE THAT NAME!) has been faithful in letting photographer's know when someone has commented on their shots! Hi WU - I love some of the new features on the photos page....especially the ability for viewers to post comments. The only thing I would like to see changed is the ability to see more thumbnails on the page when viewing the different galleries. It seems they got squished together due to inserting ads. I'm sure the ads are a great source of revenue, but can we get the bigger thumbnail viewing area back that we had before? Thanks and keep up the great work. SouthFLGolfer

Something I don't like is you can't access the slide show anywhere except on the first pic in the series. It is really a hassle otherwise this is a great site!

I like having the previous blog entry font size back. :^) I also like the new weather aggregator and scrolling headlines at the right side of the "Search:" bar. One question, "What does the Impact column mean in the Caster Data?"
