And I think pure ethanol is the way to go.
Got into some "Everclear" some years ago and a few sips of that stuff saves fuel: lately around here my buddy's vehicle would not start if he was parked near an AA fueler 'cause we are now criminals if we blow over .05. Once you get busted you have to pay for in ignition interlock which is a wonky piece of technology but still very expensive. It won't let the car start after you blow if it imagines it senses about.02. In other words: you can not have eaten a piece of toast for breakfast because the yeast in your mouth will ferment enough alcohol on your breath to shut the duffus machine down.
Apparently we have seen a dramatic decrease in accident rates (so they say) so I ain't sayin' we should go back to my youth. Just sayin':
Make pure alcohol but don't burn it in a vehicle
