Not after he lovingly grabbed her by the neck. She was soooo trusting too! And still is. But, I was standing right there and saw this and I moved very, very fast. He is definitely hunting her...crouches, etc...when she's close. She has no idea he would chase her because the other dogs really don't. But, I am teaching him not to. It's all good with the right direction.

Off to Karaoke!!! Yahooooo it's going to be a loooong night.

Hello Jusfriends, lurkers and countrymen.
Received texts from Bachelorette #1 - jus. Her cell signal is weak and she cannot post. She wants you to know the karaoke place is packed. 28 contestants. Shannon decided to sing "...Settling" for the warmup and "Little White Church" for the contest.

There are so many people, decision was made there would be no warm-up songs. And so...Bachelorette #2 - dau Shannon - will sing "Little White Church" for all the merbles.

Break a leg, Shannon!

Puppy breath? Squee!!! Happy others in home accepting and teaching. My girl wanted to kill my boy his first year or so, she follows his lead now. Same breed, and constant love. Go figure! 4 years later all good! He's a much bigger boy than her now, these past two years, I'm sure that has something to do with it! LOL

Get a dog or cat folks, will make your lives complete. If can rescue, awesome!!!!!! If have special breed in mind? There are rescuse's out for you as well. Most important to take care of those who can't survive without us, two legged, and four legged as well!

Give as much as you can, as often as you can!

Hello Code! How did you do with this strange WX? Hope you had no issues down there. Smiles from the great North.

BF, thank you for posting the Karaoke update. She got into the finals. Too funny. Her and an old friend Matt were always best in High School, and they had a blast being older and singing for everyone tonight. (These two are world class singers! just unknown or gone to other occupations. How cool to see them back together again at the Rt. 12 Bar and Grill Competition. She sang her first song, but the mic was aweful. Then they let her do another (from the first round) and she killed it! (My First Name - Vid below) Wow, it will be a long Spring at this rate ! I had a blast though. Except at one point when I got real tired. Just not as young as I used to be. But, I smiled a lot...and didn't frown.

You know your getting old when you say=
"Just not as young as I used to be."

Still sounds like you had a good time.
We have one more day of summer, still warm tomorrow in the 60's,then turns cool and possibly wet on the weekend, especially Sunday.

Our Weather artist got rather creative with the headline today:
"All Good Things Must Come To An End"

I guess so :( What a whirly gig this storm is eh?

I keep saying I'm going to get out and get photos for the record book of all these amazing sights in March. Almost hit two turtles on my way to work sunning themselves in the road, and behind our office is a pond with frogs happily singing (very loudly)
It's beautiful weather! I truly do hate to see it end.
However my Father came back to Illinois yesterday and therefore it must now snow and be the coldest Spring on record LOL. He chose the warmest winter of his life to go to Florida to get out of the cold. I find it quite ironic.

Hi Mush, he's a good lil boy. He didn't do it maliciously. Anything that moves, he is curious about. He even chases his shadow, lol.

New blog soon with storms coming in. May add some more maps and maybe even the Theta E map if y'all are real good!

Hi NEw, Yes, she is! We started chirping last week too. I didn't really mention it until today. My first daffodil bloomed on March 15 though. I'll have to go through my photos and see how far ahead we really are with the tulips. Those came out sooo fast this year.

Heading home soon. Have a good day all.

P.S. Storms on that map are moving uhm...the wrong way! We are now officially in bizarreo land!

We touched on this subject the other day (and I'm certain there have been discussions about it before) but is there a map of what each region is? Like in the post below, they say 'Central Gulf States'
Does anyone know of a map of the country outlining these areas and the states included?
Just curious. I get confused with all the different terms people are using to lump geographic areas.

SPC post 4 hours ago on Facebook:

"NOAA NWS Storm Prediction Center
While it won't be as active as earlier in the week, severe thunderstorms will be possible today in two general regions. First, potential for a few tornadoes and isolated wind damage, along with heavy rainfall, will exist today across the central Gulf Coast region. Some severe thunderstorms may also occur later this afternoon and evening across portions of eastern OK to western AR/far northeast TX. Today's Slight Risk of severe thunderstorms is in yellow (1630Z Day 1)."

Hi Jus, love all the spring flowers, we have had quite a cool summer for us and out fruit trees are blossoming in Autumn!!!! We had a cat until last year she had a stroke at 16 and we had to let her go......she trained all our puppies in how to behave, never once did she use her claws. If they got too pushy they got a hefty smack on the nose from her but never any claws. They would chase her as fun and then suddenly she would turn around and chase them which was great to watch. She would wait between bushes for the dogs to come by and jump out and "attack" then the chase would be on! Yes letting puppies go is hard and you do everythin g you can to vet the new owners but it is always a worry. I have only got it wrong once, when AFTER I had sent the puppy I found out this woman had just got a puppy from another breeder as well. That puppy fell from the verandah and broke its leg, so I was very worried about mine. However on the whole we get lots of wonderful photos and stories from people who adore their dogs and THATS what makes it all worthwhile. We have one of our puppies coming back to stay over Easter as the owners are going away so that should be fun! My husband had been looking at welsh springers on Flickr one day and said come see this there are some really nice dogs on here. I watched the clip and looked at him and said and one of them is one of ours!!!! He did not believe me until I showed him the photo we had from the owners!!
Anyway we are due some rain today so I need to get on with the housework as we have people coming to see the dogs again tomorrow they want a puppy but have so far only seen photos of the dogs in books so I recommended they come and see the gang. We always put on afternoon tea for prospective buyers so cupcakes and scones to bake. Have a great weekend and sounds like the karaoke was fun and well done to Dau!Oh we arrive end of April.

GM - It's still lovely out and smells just beautiful with the rain soaked ground. Not too cold.

Apparently puppy had son up at 4 a.m. I slept in though. ahhhhh.

BF - Thank you for dropping off the clip of Jack Butler. I LOVE that line, and that movie was so cute. What ever happened to him? That actor? hmmmm will have to look that up.

Oz: Need to read through with more time. I read your post yesterday, but need time to respond. I loved it with all the news of the puppies and all.
be back later in more detail.

Weather - a rainy day on tap w/some storminess possible(posting part of our discussion which sums it up)

Area forecast discussion
National Weather Service Chicago/Romeoville Illinois
651 am CDT Friday Mar 23 2012

Discussion...
340 am CDT

"...One of the bigger changes to the going forecast is with respect to
the massive and persistent stacked low that is slowly moving across
the central US. The change tonight is that the low is now prognosticated to
move a little farther north
than earlier anticipated. By bringing
the core a little farther north...we are now going to introduce a
little cooler air aloft by the afternoon hours. Surface dewpoints in
the upper 50s to lower 60s to continue into the afternoon
hours...and will help to support mean layer cape values in the
800-1000 j/kg region. Lower level shear is pretty marginal...though
forecast soundings do show a signal of curl to the hodograph. Storm Prediction Center
sref analysis indicates effective shear to be in the 30-35-40 knots
realm from the 18 to to 00z hour from cmi to ikk and flirting with
Ord /though reaching 40kt may be a stretch/...then in the 00z to
06z hours shifting east and across northern Indiana. Previous off
hour runs of the NAM and GFS also indicate a little speed maximum
rippling through...with the favored entrance region moving
overhead into the afternoon hours. That has now shifted a little
east...and while it isnt exactly the most favorable setup for
convection...cant rule out more than rain and will add the mention
of thunder through the afternoon hours. The biggest threat with
the cooling aloft and the increased lapse rates will be marginal
hail...but can foresee some storms that pop this afternoon taking
on similar characteristics to what was observed in the late
evening on Thursday...where a few multicellular clusters show
some middle level rotation...and that may get close to the surface.

But the threat appears low and will be more focused on the hail
threat...especially with the lack of lower level shear.

Off to get ready for the day. Have a good one all!..."

Sheesh! All Hell Broke Loose in Illinois huh! Work was so busy today and still working.

So sorry to hear of the fatality.

My goodness look at the way this is moving. This is really difficult to track? Maybe I will not attempt this and go to the main and just look at twitter and news on this. It's like a side-winder!!!

Hope this fog lifts because I need to go out to a smaller town just west of here with a very big lake and show a house. I don't think it will be a good drive through the valleys and such.

Oh well, enjoy your morning all. Be careful driving.

Statement as of 3:34 AM CDT on March 24, 2012

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am CDT this morning...

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a dense fog
advisory... which is in effect until 9 am CDT this morning.

* Visibility... areas of dense fog have slowly developed and
reduced visibilities to at times less than a quarter mile.

* Impacts... motorists will likely encounter rapid reductions in
the visibility as they enter the dense fog. This will make
travel hazardous. Use caution and remain alert for rapidly
changing conditions when traveling tonight into Saturday
morning.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Hi Oz. Yes, just came on after a very busy weekend of being outdoors, and work. Checking on an 7.2 earthquake in Chile just now. My nephew is studying abroad there. He is in Valparaiso area. Still, that's quite close to a 7.2.

Hiya Ylee!

If I get a chance, I'm going to post some new photos and two new vids of the puppy tonight. May post some to Wunderphotos, too.
Off to check a tsunami?

Hi Ylee, Add: sorry cool you have a guy from there. My nephew really likes it there and is having a blast, too!

Haven't uploaded any photos yet so I'll try to add the extensions so you can see them. I don't think you get youtube at work regardless of what I would do, lol. Sorry.

First up! WAR WITH MUSTARD WEED HAS BEGUN! And this year's crop has a phenomenal head start. It is already at seed by March 25! Oh boy. Even the work I did last year isn't making a dent. New colonies are trying to set up everywhere I look on the property.
Here is a website to learn more about Mustard Weed or Garlic Mustard or whatever you may call it. It is a baaaaadddd plant. A bad one. I'll post some photos so if you all see it, you can pull it (all the way to the root, then really dispose of it properly or it will spread)

USDA SITE:

Link

And, I have to say the box elder bug population this Spring is also on steroids! Sheesh. Have never seen it this bad. Fall should be just nuts on the South side of my home.
Actually, spiders, bugs, especially knats are really bad out there this year without a steady two or three week freeze (?) and that is just a hunch.

Ok Sorry, we had a slight delay in programming while I watched 'Shameless' whoooo hooooo!

All (well most) of the pics are up of the puppy on WU photos now, so be sure to make your way over and vote for the favorite caption for our contest on the first picture of Boomer.

Soon, I will try to post the flower pics. But I think they will attach to this album and I hate that when that happens cause you post em on the same day.

I'll just put them here or something maybe. (ramble, ramble... :) Hope you all got a kick out of the puppy pics.

Hi jus,
For the strange but true column.

Earlier today, I typed a short comment to you that said "Hope you're having a great weedweed. Complete Freudian typo. Then I loled and typed "meant *weekend*" Was gonna write some more and got interrupted, had to shut down and left without posting. Strange but true.

The leaves on those weeds remind me of nettle.

In his newest pics Boomer looks bigger! Already.

Bugs on steroids. Now that's funny.

Such nasty stuff that weedweed BF. ha hahaha exactly what I was up to most of the day. Garlic mustard is THE WORST! It is soooo invasive and is ruining our forests! My own property is just terrible with it. But I try.

Boomer is much bigger this week! I can hardly pick him up. And that belly gets soooo full, he can hardly fit through the doggy door.

Ok anyhoooooo here are some Spring Flower pics. Some of these I will definitely be posting to the photo section, eventually. But, :) there's TWO VIDEOS of the pup, enjoy!

(Ylee, I don't know if you can see these :( or what I can do to help)

Here we are talking about weeds in the last week of March,Mother Nature has her calendar all messed up.
Well not for us,we are plunging into winter, starting this afternoon, windchills tonight could drop into the single numbers. Now I have to go search for hat, gloves, winter coat.We are clearing out our family room in preparation for my construction project starting on Thursday,so who knows where I put them.

Hi NEw, Had to wear a coat today myself! It dropped, but we for some reason aren't in the frost area. I'm hoping Door County and Wisconsin cherry and apple orchards will be spared, too. Missouri wine country looks safe for now as well.

Hope all your projects are going well. I am going to stop by after I get home later, or if I get a lull in the action here at work. This office is much busier than my other one and, as you probably can tell from my previous years blogs, I wasn't used to being so busy during the crash, lol.

Hope everyone stays warm and prayers up for farmers everywhere. Our economy does not need this hit in the heartland! P.S. Let's really start yacking to our Congressmen and complaining about these gas prices, too. Any recovery is doomed if this continues impo. It is ridiculous. Over and out...

Hi Jus, Boomer looks great and growing! We have two dog shows this weekend so lots of grooming to do on the dogs. We are picking apples from our trees and they are in blossom again, our seasons are really mixed up this year. My neighbour has a crab apple tree in her front yard and it spectacular with blossom but its Autumn!!

Hi all. It is late, but I have been very busy. Thank you Ozgalah, he is doing very well! Such a good little guy so far.

Hi BF, hope you had a good Moonday. Mine was bang zoooom to the Mooooon! Loooong story.

Tomorrow is an even longer day. So, I may close the blog you guys and gals. I will leave the caption contest go until tomorrow night. It is a lot of fun! And, I need some good quick smiles right now. See you all possibly tomorrow night.

P.S. It is very cold here. Saw icky stuff headed our way (but a small cluster?) Need time to look.
If you want the details of my rant, wu mail me...I shouldn't have vented in public.

Our yard is awash in this stuff:

Lamium amplexicaule L. - henbit deadnettle
We just call it henbit.

Stay warm!

Oh My Ylee! We have that, too.
Just got out of work clothes. Sat down and wallah...storms popping up. Sort of was watching this all day, but the jury seemed to be out whether it would materialize.

3, 2, 1 blast off in Illinois. A bit farther South than me but...

MCD...and map of the action below.

MESOSCALE DISCUSSION 0370
NWS STORM PREDICTION CENTER NORMAN OK
0843 PM CDT TUE MAR 27 2012

AREAS AFFECTED...PORTIONS NRN/WRN IL...EXTREME NERN/N-CENTRAL
KS...EXTREME NWRN INDIANA...WRN/NRN MO...EXTREME SERN IA...EXTREME
SRN LM.

CONCERNING...SEVERE POTENTIAL...WATCH POSSIBLE

VALID 280143Z - 280345Z

GRADUAL DEEPENING OF CONVECTION HAS BEEN NOTED IN PREFRONTAL BAND
FROM N-CENTRAL IL TO NERN MO...WITH POTENTIAL MOVEMENT ACROSS SRN LM
REGION AND POSSIBLE BACKBUILDING TOWARD KS/MO BORDER REGION DURING
NEXT FEW HOURS. OCNL SVR HAIL OR DAMAGING GUSTS ARE POSSIBLE.

01Z SFC MESOANALYSIS SHOWED COLD FRONT FROM E-CENTRAL WI SWWD ACROSS
DBQ/OTM/STJ AREAS. WARM FRONT WAS DRAWN FROM ERN WI SSEWD ACROSS
CHI AREA TO NEAR SDF...HOWEVER RELATIVELY DRY SFC AIR WITH MID-UPPER
40S F DEW POINTS EXTENDED W OF WARM FRONT OVER ERN IL. GIVEN SWLY
FLOW ON BOTH SIDES OF COLD FRONT...FRONTAL CONVERGENCE WAS
WEAK...AND SHOULD REMAIN SO THROUGH AT LEAST 04Z. HOWEVER...SFC
CONFLUENCE LINE WAS EVIDENT OVER W-CENTRAL/N-CENTRAL IL. THOUGH AT
OBLIQUE ANGLE TO DEVELOPING CONVECTION...STRONGEST LOW-LEVEL LIFT
APPEARS TO BE NEAR SFC CONFLUENCE ZONE. MOIST AXIS WAS DRAWN ABOUT
35-45 NM AHEAD OF FRONT OVER MOST OF AREA. 850 AND 925 MB UPPER AIR
CHARTS SHOWED MOIST AXES AT THOSE LEVELS NEARLY COLLOCATED FROM
PNC-MKC-PIA. 00Z UPPER AIR CHARTS AND LATEST VWP/PROFILER WINDS
INDICATED LLJ AXIS SLIGHTLY FARTHER S NEAR OKC-COU-SBN LINE.

CONVECTION HAS DEVELOPED AHEAD OF FRONT...ALONG SRN FRINGE OF
LOW-LEVEL MOIST PLUME...S OF MOIST AXES AND N OF LLJ. MOIST
ADVECTION...AND INCREASING ISENTROPIC ASCENT...SHOULD HELP TO
MAINTAIN THIS ACTIVITY AND PERHAPS INCREASE COVERAGE...WHILE BAND
TRANSLATES EWD 20-25 KT AND EMBEDDED CELLS MOVE FASTER NEWD.
MODIFIED DVN/ILX/TOP/SGF RAOBS...ORD ACARS SOUNDING AND RUC FCST
SOUNDINGS SUGGEST 1000-1500 J/KG MLCAPE NEAR MOIST AXIS...BUT ALSO
INCREASING MLCINH LIKELY WITH EVENING DIABATIC COOLING NEAR SFC.
THIS WILL MAKE DAMAGING WIND POTENTIAL MORE CONDITIONAL/MRGL WITH
TIME. MEANWHILE NEARLY PARALLEL NATURE OF MEAN FLOW TO CONVECTIVE
PLUME SUPPORTS QUASI-LINEAR CONVECTIVE MODE...LIKELY LIMITING THREAT
FOR SIGNIFICANT SVR HAIL. NONETHELESS...PRESENCE OF FAVORABLE
BUOYANCY ATOP MOISTURE PLUME...AND EFFECTIVE SHEAR MAGNITUDES
RANGING FROM AROUND 50 KT OVER NRN IL TO 35 KT NEAR MKC...WILL
SUPPORT SOME POTENTIAL FOR ORGANIZED CONVECTION WITH SPORADIC SVR.
THREAT SHOULD DIMINISH SEWD OVER E-CENTRAL IL AND NRN INDIANA INTO
PROGRESSIVELY WEAKER LOW-LEVEL THETAE.

..EDWARDS.. 03/28/2012
