Hi {{{Jus}}} ~
Sorry I'm unable to post much lately, as things are quite hectic around here and I'm a bit beat from all the recent family turmoil. I definitely plan on using this weekend to relax a bit and hope that you're able to catch up on needed rest and recuperation from your cold as well. Thanks for stopping by and a HAPPY MAY DAY TODAY! Hope the weather becomes much better for all!
.{{{Pros}}} ~
Hope that the weather in your area calms down enough for you to pursue all the activities you need to be or enjoy doing during the course of this month. Hopefully, May will be a merry one instead of carrying over April's treachery.
Have a great remainder to your weekend everyone!
Your certainly right about the pain. I'm sheduled for a GI scoping this month which I'm certainly not looking forwward to.
So far the treatment is just antibotics and lots of water.I also have to keep a close eye on my diet.
Have a good day.
You're so welcome {{{Ally}}} and my thoughts and prayers are with all those who've suffered or been taken by all recent devastating tornadoes in the South. Hope your fundraiser is a huge success!! You're quite the gal and WU buddy!! Big Supportive Hugs!!!
Hi Tony!
I believe there have been many advancements in the treatment of diverticulitis since the early 1980's. At least, I hope so!!! I know the condition can be painful and the tests quite uncomfortable, but antibiotics along with proper diet, etc. can go a long way in the reduction of this sudden flareup. I'm just so sorry you've been hit with so many different health scares in just over a year. What a time to have had several inches of snowfall in La Prairie to boot! Keep me posted on your outcome and, naturally, I wish you the very best outcome!
Good Morning NEw!
I echo your sentiments about this historical moment in our history. Last night, I had mixed emotions about Bin Laden's justified end due to the thousands of innocent civilians, US soldiers and Allies who sacrificed their lives in the nearly DECADE LONG process. I couldn't help but feel that had we stayed in Afghanistan instead of unnecessarily diverting our attention to Iraq in 2003, we might very well have killed Bin Laden much sooner and saved many more innocent lives in the process. To think it only took eight months (or since last August) to finally track Bin Laden down and kill him under President Obama's Administration.
I also thought about my husband's 22 yr old relative who died eight years ago due to a helicopter crash during the initial Iraq invasion in 2003. Additionally, my 36 year old niece has served in Iraq (as has her husband) and is currently redeployed in Afghanistan as an air traffic controller. They have a 7 year old son who has mostly been raised by relatives and connected with his mother through Skype webcams.
Most understandably, I hope that no serious repercussions develop from Bin Laden's death, and that we can finally gain a foothold on tampening down terrorism to the point most of our valiant troops can safely return home.
On a lighter note, what a pleasant surprise and boost for Red Soxer, Carl Crawford yesterday in helping them to win over Seattle. Too bad the Celtics lost to the Heat 99-90. Hope they can regroup and come back stronger. Would be uplifting for Boston sports fans to see all three teams become increasingly successful and win, at least, a couple of championships this season.
At least, weatherwise, this week's temps don't appear to be as cold as first indicated and will hopefully remain in the 60 plus range. I can withstand some unsettled weather here and there just as long as we don't dip too far down the thermostat! Glad I don't live in still snowy Idaho or Canada right now!
Happy Wednesday to you.
I went to the surgeon who will be preforming the scoping. He was pretty upset that the hospital has scheduled it so soon. He said it shouldn't be done for 6-8 weeks after the attack to let the inflamation subside. I'm noe scheduled for a June date instead of next week.
Enjoy your day
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog this week. I see you had been really busy with family matters... we did miss you. Seems many of us have family matters that take our immediate attention alot these days.
Hope all is better now.
Enjoy your weekend!!!
When I see what strokes have done to other people I consider myself so lucky with just sight and consetration problems. Memory loss would be terrible. I have stuff I put away a over a year ago and can still find most of them.
Have a good day
Good Morning Everyone!
It's been continually hectic around here, since I have had all this paperwork to fill out along with other issues pertaining to my hubby's health insurance mandatorily transfering over to Medicare as of June 1st. It's not an easy process and difficult to coordinate. Hopefully, by Monday, everything will be straightened out with the various parties and I can relax a bit more.
Tony ~ Yes, indeed, my husband's memory loss has created certain difficulties for him to overcome, especially, emotionally. I credit him greatly, though, with what he's been able to accomplish on his own, but he still has trouble adapting or adjusting at times to his limitations. I have to delicately remind or reinforce him about certain issues pertaining to his overall health and safety almost every day. At least, he can still recall certain well-ingrained memories of his past, but there are large chunks that he's forgotten which makes him quite tearful. Nevertheless, I give as much positive reinforcement as I can to build up his self-confidence and esteem, as understandably, that's sometimes half the battle.
Big kudos to you, too, for all that you've managed to accomplish after dealing with your own health woes! You, too, deserve a lot of credit!
Hope that your neighbhorhood isn't too close to La Prairie's nearby flooding Assiniboine River. My town has had its share of those same problems in certain past spring thaws with our Merrimack and Spicket Rivers periodically spilling over its banks. I know full well the damage that can ensue to those living near its shores. Hope better weather comes your way soon and more permanently to ease those rising waters!
Gamma ~ So nice to hear from you again and thanks for your support! Yes, it seems many fellow blogging buddies are finding unexpected family issues or other hardships to face with every passing month or year. I've begun to realize that, as far as I'm concerned, age does matter. My resiliency isn't what it used to be and am plumb tuckered out right now. Hopefully, with better seasons (spring and summer) upon us, our collective morale might brighten and put everything in better perspective. I'm just hoping that I can get certain pressing issues completed and done on Monday! Beauracracy is a killer! LOL!
Hope everyone manages to have a lovely weekend and, hopefully, I can get online to wish those of you who are Mothers or spouses of one, etc. A MOST HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
Thought a few of you might get a real chuckle out of this ole tune written about Mothers with the lyrics just below the video! LOL!!!!
M-O-T-H-E-R
"M" is for the million things she gave me,
"O" means only that she's growing old,
"T" is for the tears she shed to save me,
"H" is for her heart of purest gold;
"E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
"R" means right, and right she'll always be,
Put them all together, they spell "MOTHER,"
A word that means the world to me.
to welcome each morning,
Wishing you flowers
to brighten each spring,
Wishing you laughter,
and sharing and caring,
And all of the joy
that each new day
can bring!
Happy Mothers Day to the women who unconditionally love, nurture, protect children.

Your certainly right about the strong supportive and loving wife. Without the Queen I'd be lost. Every time my doctor thinks I'm ready to be releasted from the hospital he asks the Queen if she's ready for me to come home. She's always said yes. I thank her daily with akiss on the cheek and a hug for the way she looks after me.We've been married almost 43 years now and she's always helped me make they right desion. I know the biggest and best desion I ever made was marrying that woman.
WE're about 5 miles north of the river but the Portage Diversion protects us from flooding. It diverts river water to Lake Manitoba just upstream of Portage. The areas that are concerning people are further downstram of Portage where the old dykes, levees, built in the 50's, are slowly eroding away.
Enjoy your day
Have a good day
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY DEAR MASS. Have a wonderful day dear one.

Mass - may you have a most wonderful day!
I have some time to post a bit today and thought I'd include a weather map found on Unisys.com. Hope and pray that those in the midwest (especially, Joplin, MO), escape from any further fierce storms that were indicated earlier today. I have created a link to Portlight.Org in my blog header for those who wish to help these affected citizens in such dire need of all forms of help.
For the first time in ages, our temperature has reached nearly 82 degrees with periodic sunshine peering through a few clouds. Thankfully, my location isn't included in the severe t'storm warning, but naturally I will keep my eyes to the skies just in case.
I sincerely hope everyone will be able to get through the remainder of May healthy and intact!!
UNISYS WEATHER MAP FOR THE NORTHEAST
This is a composite plot of the radar summary, echo tops, storm movement, TVS and MESO signatures and watch boxes. The radar summary is color coded by precip type. Greens, yellows and reds are rain. Pinks are mixed precipitation (freezing rain, sleet). Blues are snow. NOTE: Radar data is susceptible to a phenomena called anomalous propagation. This generally happens at night and appears as a area of 20 dBZ echos (darkest green) which is centered around each radar site and expands with time. To try and reduce the problem, low echo values near the radar sites have been removed.
CURRENT WEATHER MAP AND WARNINGS FOR THE MIDWEST INCLUDING KANSAS AND MISSOURI:
I hope that you are ok and that the problems are solving themselves. Stay well my friend.
I sincerely hope that all our WU friends who live in those areas that were hard hit by tornadoes and severe storms last night are all okay!!! Last night, I closely watched "The Weather Channel" and "CNN" to check on those areas of Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, etc. which were being affected by more disastrous weather. It truly is overwhelmingly mind-boggling and painful to hear of so much loss of life and see videos of complete towns and cities totally leveled in these areas. May they all find the courage and strength to overcome their personal losses, be lifted by continued faith and find all the help they need as they begin to rebuild their lives!!
I'm truly thankful that the double whammy of thunderstorms reaching our area last night didn't create any damage. It's the one part of summertime weather I don't miss!! We had some heavy downpours and lightning bolts but, this morning, no homes or buildings were reported as being struck or damaged in the region.
Hope that Juslivn remains safe as another nasty storm system is currently traveling through her area of Illinois!!!
Prayers to all for a safe and healthy Wednesday!
Ty for your wishes. Really think up here where it is only 53 degrees will be ok. Maybe strong storms, lightening, hail. But it appears the threat is so much greater for South and Central IL, IN, and very, very concerned about TN and those in the center (KY)? ok rambling on about it again. I should be quiet today, my fingers are typing faster then my brain, lol. Hope you have a good day.
Thankfully, it appears, for now, that the apocalyptically destructive weather systems across the middle portions of our country have settled down awhile! It's so painful to watch these shell-shocked victims, as they desperately look for either signs of life from lost loved ones or a few remnants out of a now decimated home. I hope our Nation can put politics aside for awhile and begin to feel in compassionate human terms the extent of their extreme loss and pain.
I'm so thankful that my region has been spared, for now, and we are looking at a terrific weather forecast (80's) lasting well throughout the holiday weekend. I certainly will appreciate and savor being able to fire up the gas grill again for some tasty summertime holiday treats and relax with my hubby in the comforts of our intact home.
I hope that, on this particular Memorial Day, we stop to remember not only those lives who were lost in service to our Country, but all beloved family and friends who were seemingly taken from us too soon. Think, too, of those people who, through no fault of their own, lost their lives during the recent violent tornadic outbreaks in our country. May they all RIP and their survivors find comfort and strength.
On a lighter note, big hockey game tonight, which I can't see because RCN doesn't offer Versus unless you pay extra, and those Redsox are looking like monsters right now.
I'm hoping those strong t'storms expected later this afternoon will stay enough west of us in the Merrimack Valley area! For now, it's very pleasant outside with the sun finally overtaking initial overcast clouds and temps around 70. Nevertheless, I'll be keeping a watchful eye on our local doppler radar this afternoon! At least, the weekend looks rather promising.
HOPE THE BRUINS MAKE IT TO THE STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS TONIGHT! IT'S NOW OR NEVER THIS SEASON!
Sorry, you don't get Versus which is connected with Verizon FIOS, I believe. Surprisingly, Comcast airs this station as part of our current package or bundle deal. Could you possibly catch the score or game online?? Hope you'll get to see victorious highlights nonetheless!
Hope your work day goes by swiftly and may you and yours have a peaceful, relaxing and
reflective Memorial Day Weekend!
Weekend is less than an hour away,I'm almost climbing out of my seat as I type this.

Thanks for your lovely posts and glad that no one was seriously effected by the nasty round of storms that passed over or by your respective areas the other day! What a horrendous week it's been for many!!
May all of you have a most peaceful and relaxing remainder to this solemn holiday weekend as well as better times in the week ahead. Looks like we might get a few t'storms here and there, but for now, the weekly forecast doesn't indicate anything too serious. Fingers crossed, anyway!!!
Hubby and I plan on relaxing at home and firing up our gas grill later on for some seemingly long overdue summertime treats. It's felt like ages since we felt the enjoyment of summer-like weather. We're savoring every moment of those magnificent days.
May you all remain safe, have an enjoyably relaxing weekend and remember all those who sacrificed their lives in order for us to benefit from it.
In Canada we pay tribute to the brave men who gave thier lives so we could be free on November 11. Have a good Memorial Day and say a prayer for those who lost thier tomorrow.
I tricked with the yellow flowers. Those are the last remaining tulips.Soon the leaves will all turn brown and I'll mow them down and plant Portulaca over them.
Enjoy your day.
It's strange I don't remember ever putting in any yellow ones I thought they were all red. THier old plants, the oldest daughter got them from the Legion, a vetrans club, when she was in elementry school. The old girl is now 40.
Mercifully, most of Mass. escaped those nasty thunderstorms earlier this morning which, unfortunately, made their way across the western part of our Commonwealth and has been pummeling much of Connecticut. Sadly, CT had to cancel a majority of their Memorial Day events state-wide. Hope that no future storms happen to pop up during the course of this solemn day, so the afternoon can be spent comfortably relaxing and honoring.
Plap ~ I wasn't quite sure which type of yellow spring flowers I saw on your webcam this am, but the tulips certainly look lovely and a most welcoming sight. As I posted on your blog earlier, glad you were able to spend a pleasant Sunday with the Queen and family yesterday without any pesky symptoms cropping up. Hope that your doctor's appointment is coming up soon and that he can hook you up sooner with an excellent neurologist! May the remainder of your Monday and week be as restful and enjoyable as yesterday, I look forward to seeing the mentioned replacement of beautiful spring tulips to summertime Portulacas in your garden! Let's hope La Prairie receives more favorable weather conditions real soon in order for them to survive!
SAMPLE OF A PORTULACA FLOWER
That 87 and clear you have looks pretty good. We're a little cloudy now, but hot - no difference to me because I didn't make it outdoors anyway. But, at least there's a bit of relief for the folks down at the beach. We have a wind advisory up until 7 - the flags are flying, for sure!
Hope you day was lovely. Thanks again for stopping by my place - I do believe I'm going to survive ;-)
I'm sure getting tired of the cloudy wet weather we've been experiencing. There seem no end to it.
The new meds the doctor switched me to seem to be doing the trick. I've had no auras or siezures since I started them.
Have a good day
Hard to believe that this is the last day of May with the summer's solistice just three weeks away! At the risk of repeating myself over and over again, what a historically damaging month it's been!
Last night, I happened to catch Wunderground's, Dr. Jeff Masters, discuss with moderator, Judy Woodruff, on PBS's Newshour, how climate change has possibly correlated with our Nation's outbreak of recent hazzardous weather conditions. It left me questioning exactly what his stance actually is on this important issue and how much longer do we need to accumulate more scientific data. Apparently, 60 years of tornadic history to rifle through isn't enough. Understandably, it's much harder to measure the power of a tornado versus a hurricane, but hopefully, meteorologists and storm chaser's will be able to acquire the right technology or data to safely measure and understand what atmospheric changes can do to set-up many of these devastating situations and what, if anything, one can further do to predict or forewarn. It appears we still have quite a ways to go.
Hope everyone had a pleasant holiday weekend and took the time to remember those service people who sacrificed all as well as beloved departed family members. My heart goes out to all grieving family members both recent past and present.
Shore ~ So nice to hear from you on my blog as well and hope you will be able to rid yourself of what we call up here, 'the creeping crud!' Glad you were able to rest up over the weekend and hope your strength returns shortly. Let's hope that the Texas heatwave down there eases up enough for more comfortable outdoor working conditions once you return. That, alone, must really sap one's strength!
Plap ~ Great to hear that a change in medications has finally relieved you of those sudden auras and seizures! I sure hope that the medication adjustments you mentioned finally take and allow you to resume your now normal daily activities without incident! You certainly have done remarkably well, under the circumstances, and kudos to the Queen, as well, for holding up under what must have been great emotional duress for the two of you. May you be able to successfully plant a few of those beautiful portulaca flowers in your garden before long! Thanks for bringing this to my attention, as my hubby and I are interested in this type of gorgeous flower for our garden as well! They don't look to grow as tall as dahlia's which is perfect.
HAVE A GREAT TUESDAY EVERYONE!
I'm sure most of the country especially the middle part of the US is glad to see this month end.Such a gut wrenching month for so many people.
On the brighter side, the stanley cup begins tomorrow night, haven't seen this area so hockey crazy in years.
Well, will try to survive this day without too much loss of blood, hope your day is a brighter one.
Let's hope for a calm rest of the short week!
The portulaca only grows to about 6 to 8 inches tall and come in all colors. Unfortunatly thier an annuual . They thrive in a hot drier place as thier a suculant.I plant them about a foot apart and they fill the area between my idewalk and house with color.
Enjoy your day
