Yesterdays flooring episode didn't go as planned. After me laying and relaying the first 2 strips of laminate I gave up. It wouldn't stay together. The queen got hold of friend who installs flooring for a living. It seems the floor is too uneven to use laminate. There are humps 1/2 inch high in spots. The joys of owning an older home! I guess we'll have to find a plan "B".

Hi Tony, that is too bad about the flooring. You can always lay a new sub floor to level out the uneven areas. Laminates are tricky and I must warn you that the best time to lay the stuff is in the summer when there is no frost in the ground as well. Found that out from my neighbour. Seems in the winter the foundation shifts just a mm or so and the laminate will separate and go back into place once the frost is out of the ground. Found that to be the problem in my kitchen where I laid the stuff. Its easy enough to put back in place, as it will slide back in place but it is a nuisance. This of course may not happen with folks who have full basements but both our homes here are post and beam foundations.

Glad to see its finally Spring on the Prairies...Enjoy your day dear one. Good luck with your floors.
