June 10: Going to be a very busy next 4 days!
June 9, 1962 There was a special wedding going on that day. And 50 Years Later, Sarah & Steve are still Celebrating their Beautiful Life together!
Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary!!!
and I found out later today it is also Maria/Pros and her husband's 49th Anniversary today.
So Congratulations to that sweet pair also!
It is June!!! Time for a new blog thread.
Also it is my hope to start putting up some pictures of my whole house "refresh" and my Kitchen "gut & makeover".
It has been 2 months since the mess started....Actually the first wave was taking popcorn off ceiling on April 2nd...
Still more to get done and some will not be finished for a few more weeks because a piece of cabinet panel we ordered for a custom piece the carpender is making will not be in until June 15th.
Also still need to do window treatments and decorate all the living areas.
But what has been completed looks so good I cannot wait to start putting up some pictures even if it is not finished!
So maybe tomorrow I will get a chance.
Also on the "Storm Front" June 1st is start of Hurricane Season and this year we have already had two named Tropical Storms, Alberto and Beryl...off to a fast start already for the supposedly "normal" season predicted. We will see.
Previous blog has Panhandle Weekend pictures...
-------------------------------------- ---
Here are my weather Maps. This one had to be removed from my above the blog spot; that is what was causing my computer problems last week.

-------------------------------------
I found out, these maps are measuring fire hazard and soil moisture, not necessary drought according to rainfall.

----------------------

--------------------------

Loaded up 7 kitchen renovation pictures. It is not finished by any means but getting there. And my camera does not give a true color of the granite counter tops or back splash.. when I get more done will post more pictures.
June 2, 2012: Almost done with my Kitchen Renovation, maybe will be finished in another 3 weeks. This is where the large wall was located that we took down.
June 2, 2012: Almost done with my Kitchen Renovation, maybe will be finished in another 3 weeks. To fill in this small area by this corner cabinet I have a little shelf.
June 2, 2012: Almost done with my Kitchen Renovation, maybe will be finished in another 3 weeks. This is the back wall that holds fridge, microwave, pantry, and most of the backsplash.
June 2, 2012: Almost done with my Kitchen Renovation, maybe will be finished in another 3 weeks. Use to be a 3/4 wall there now you get complete view of kitchen when you walk into living area.
June 2, 2012: Almost done with my Kitchen Renovation, maybe will be finished in another 3 weeks. To make up for some lost cabinets I have a giant Pantry. 8 ft tall double doors 36" wife.
June 2, 2012: Almost done with my Kitchen Renovation, maybe will be finished in another 3 weeks. That white area on each side of window will be the custom made wine racks the contractor is going to make to match cabinets. Waiting on more cabinet wood to do the work. Don't you love that boat on top of shelf?
June 4, 2012: My kitchen Step Stool. I am loading this up just for Spathy! This is how I will get around in my new kitchen with very tall cabinets!

"Other Bug" so funny.
Jus, LOL I know, if it had not happened to me it would be funny!
You know, that just the way I roll these days! something is always happening to me.
Jeff, this morning I was wishing I had on a brown shirt, then the stains would not have even shown up!
NEw, LOL you know you are right. Every time I am ahead of schedule something happens to
get me back off course! got to remember that!
Janet, the story of my life is Murphy's Law! If there are several choices of a "line" to get in.. I always pick the slow one...
Sandi, don't you just know it! So far even after this morning's start.. No headaches.
No body really pissed me off at work today for a change! I think I am going to survive Day 2 of the "long week" ..
Thanks everyone!!!
Central Florida with Ogal.
We are reminising about all her travels over in Ogal's blog. It is funny.
If you had "Other Bug" with you for a while over the past 5 yrs and you have pictures, post them on Ogal's blog.
So much fun!
Left all my files, everything. That's what I get for laughing :) Thank goodness it wasn't raining.
off to see O'gals blog, hope you are done w/work???
no still at work. we have 12 hr shifts 7am-7pm.
I try to get here between 6:30 am - 6:45am.. we have a 6:50am meeting/turnover I must attend.
The only reason it is worth it is I get off every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and alternate Wednesdays (on the short weeks)
Glad your briefcase did not get wet.
Sandi, I just remembered.. it is against the law to drink coffee (or liquid) driving?
Man, here in USA every driver is doing something besides driving.
A few months ago I saw a woman plucking her eyebrows while driving in heavy but slow traffic!
Actually I have never been one to "put on make up while driving" or do anything while driving.
I only talk on my cell phone because it is hooked up to my car and I don't have to hold it.
I almost wish our folks would not do so many distracting things while driving here.
Anytime I see a car driving slow or irradically I know for sure, they are talking on their cell phone (holding it in their hand) or reading texts messages from their cell phone.
It makes me crazy to get behind these people.
I personally cannot eat and drive .. if I do a drive thru, I will pull over and quickly eat
instead of trying to eat and drive at same time.
Not worth it to me.
But normally I can take a few sips of coffee while driving! except this morning! LOL
You're halfway done; hang in there!
BC, thank you so much. Sometimes my hubby and I just stand and gaze at that view of the new kitchen. We cannot believe it is actually in our home! Now that I have all my "stuff/decorations" up it is really nice.
I am finally setting up the hutch in the dining area next to kitchen. Once I finally get it all finished I will post more pictures.
Thank you so much.
Ylee, YIPEE.. Yes halfway thru my long week.
Too funny.. that is right, now even back seat has a middle sections that folds down and has an arm rest and 2 cup holders!
Thanks everyone who stops by.
All of Central and North Florida
(but not the panhandle)
is now deep green or blue!!!
2 weeks of daily rain will do it for you!
and except for one SW county most of South Florida is still very green also.
Palm Beach County (just north of Broward) has been getting rain all day, they will probably go Blue on tomorrow afternoon's update.
and Central Fla is getting more and more rain this afternoon...
Now we need some rain in the panhandle and our state is all set for a few weeks!
Patti I just love the looks of your kitchen. It has such a warm feeling. That is what I really want with mine. It just looks cozy. I know I need to get off my duff and get it done. By any chance is it Bruce coming to visit??
ROFL.. Yes, he and his NJ girlfriend are coming in Sunday thru Tuesday.
This was just not a good time for me to have company and I am going to have plenty of it Sunday.
thank you.. Yes you just need to get brave and just DO IT! about your kitchen....
Mine is looking much better than those pictures already since I put in some of my personal touches.
I cannot wait until it is finished.. that may be a few weeks...
or maybe another month or two at the rate we are going.
Kinda like a flyby, but hey, work's like that sometimes, isn't it? ;)
So Happy 50th Anniversary to Sarah & Steve!!!!
Happy Anniversary Pictures @ dazzlejunction.com
Saturday Pictures @ dazzlejunction.com
& Ogal can't be that old:) Congrats girl!
Thank you so much... Yes I am loving it and will be loving it even more when it is finshed!
Skye, thanks.. hubby and I are still in shock when we walk in and see it!
Yes, Ogal puts us all to shame.
She looks and acts like a 30 year old!
Everyone, go to Ogals blog to see old picture of "Other Bug" and some of the
old Dec 2, 2007 WUBA Pancake breakfast. Just some old memories from the
younger years here in WU!
I cannot wait until the rest come and put up their "other bug" photos.
You have nearly made it!
I am cooking myself a dinner that does not include chicken. I have been out to dinner three times this last week, and although the meals were delicious, each and every host provided chicken on the menu! lol
So it is a pork loin with new potatoes and baked ratatouille... Mnnn, a nice bottle of red will go with that! lol
Promise to save you a glass or two!
Firstly, thanks so much for the heads up concerning OGal's 50th wedding anniversary! You're absolutely right about her youthful looks and effervescence belying her age. She most definitely must have been a child bride!
Your newly remodeled kitchen is absolutely gorgeous and just love your selection of wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, along with the increased expansive look to your kitchen. Your beach-related decorations lend just the right touch! I bet it'll be a blast now while cooking and entertaining guests at the same time! No longer will you feel the need of a bull-horn to communicate or run around the bend to check on future football scores. LOL!
Thanks, too, for posting all those "Bug" pictures on OGal's site. I remember when many of you were posting them in 2009, which is when I began posting and blogging. This certainly was a most creatively ingenious way for developing a worldly travel companion and conversation piece! LOL! Long may "Bug" live in snapshots both here on WU and on those taken by other interested tourists she meets along the way!!
Have a great Saturday and Weekend! We're finally warming back up to more settled summery weather today after nearly a full week of chilly, unsettled, rainy, stormy weather. Ahhhh!
Patti have a wonderful time with your friends. I am sure Stacey is thrilled. You will have fun I am sure. Just go with the flow.
Thanks for making the Bug Blog so special and so much fun.
Happy anniversary to OGal!!
Maybe you meant 5th and not 50th. LOL
Pensacola is getting hammered right now, specifically where my mother lives. Already 8-13 inches and coming down at 2-4 inches per hour. Sounds like the March 1979 floods when 14 inches came down one morning.
Great to hear from you again on my blogsite! I thought you might be interested to know that Proserpina (per her blogpost today) and Raindad are also celebrating their wedding anniversary (49th) today as well. What are the odds of two dear WU friends each getting married years ago, on the same day, but only one year apart from the other? WOW! Nevertheless, big kudos to both of them and their spouses!
Hope you enjoy your company. I know you will!
And I found at when I was home that today is also Pros and Her hubby's 49th Anniversary!!!
So had to get to her blog also.
Sandi, Yes I am almost thru this work week and getting up this morning was hard! Your dinner menu sounds wonderful. Sometimes we enjoy cooking for ourselves! I know I really missed it when I did not have a kitchen at all!
Enjoy your evening.
Mass, thank you so much.. and also thanks for putting on here before I got back about Pros's wedding anniversary also.
Yes looking at all those old pictures is a lot of fun; brings back memories. It is always fun when WU friends get to meet in real time.
Enjoy your weekend.
Ogal, Yes Stacey is happy his best friend is going to be with us the next few days... I just wish the house was in a little better order. We still have piles of "stuff" sitting around and the patio is still a mess... oh well..
It was fun posting all those pictures in your blog!
\
Scott, I heard about P'cola.. wow they are getting some real heavy rain. After today I doubt anyplace in Florida will be needing rain!
Enjoy your weekend, thanks for stopping by.
Janet, So that is the tree. I remember those back in the South.. they did make beautiful blooms in the spring but they are messy.
We have some type of tree in that family down here. But the blooms here are not as pretty as yours. Thanks for stopping by.
So back from lunch break. Waiting on the moisture map to update around 4pm.
I'll bet a lot more blue and dark green counties appear.
Also checked Lake Okeechobee and it is getting up there in water level... and normally we don't want it getting too much higher with all the summer rains coming.
Weather folks are talking about a system next week in the NW Carribean or South GOM... hummm
guess we need to be watching.
Will try to get back if I can later.
They have gotten rain now for 2 days? Wonder what is going on with that map?
all the rest of the state is either Blue or Green except for the Naples/Cape Coral area and it is only Yellow which is still better than orange or red.
Oh well, guess the Panhandle will go blue/green tomorrow.
Thanks for your "Happy Saturday" greetings all over WUville!
I'm sure you brought a lot of smiles!
Here's a little something for you!
Gamma, kitchen is looking great. Know you are so very happy with results. Makes it easier for you to host all the great gatherings you do so often. Look for one from me, and perhaps Oneshot as well, if can talk her into it later this summer. :) I know you and green eyes have always wanted me to come. Tell the girls, and boys. I want to see them and babies as well! Aub's girl's wanted DNA samples before he and Mom came to me. Damon, Em, and others? Not so much. I know Poppy prolly had protection that first time. LMAO 4 times later now? Tell him I think we're safe! They knew a good time. LOL We will have the same!!!!! Tell Mr. Poppy, (green eye's) my cooler will be full of his fave by the way. You will have to remind me of your fave red. My drink of choice is pino gris, or....I can just help Poppy clear it out cooler while there.
I surely like a beer or two. :)
One last check in as I get ready to leave work in about 25 mins.
Rob, that is sweet.. thank you very much.
I remember that song from high school days also.
I even saw them in concert in Memphis in the early 70's.
hey Code, good to see you stop by. I would love to have you and Wanda come on over!
I have a guest room waiting on you.
Scott, parts of the panhandle is getting a lot of rain today. It is making the news everywhere. it is ashame, the panhandle went from drought to flooding in one day.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by this week and I tried to get to some of your blogs.. as many as I could.
Dang, all this work is interrupting my blogging time!
Happy Saturday!
I think my dream kitchen would have no cupboards below counter height. Possibly because I am tall --- or lazy.
:)
Thanks for the heads up about the special anniversaries today - or yesterday now I guess.
Don't let any 'canes across your threshold this season!
Have a nice weekend!
Hope all is well!!
BF so glad to see you. You know I think I would like a kitchen with no upper cabinets, well maybe just two or three for plates and glasses. But to have a walk in pantry the size of a small bedroom with walls of shelfs to hold everything that I would normally put in cabinets. But I doubt that will ever happen!
Those pull out drawers in the lower cabinets make it much easier to use, you don't have to get down on the floor to get items in and out of them.
So you are tall ... that means you would not have needed that stool I have to use to reach beyond the first upper shelf! LOL
Thanks for stopping by.
Ylee, lol, when I read you had"red" waiting on you.. I am thinking...never heard him mention he enjoy red wine before.. then I see cranberry juice. But that is refreshing and good for you! Enjoy your time off.
Luvz, how are you!!!! I guess you are back from your vacation. Nice seeing you on the blogs.
Aren't you in the area that got so much rain? I guess not with humidity of 12% I take it you need rain?
Thanks for stopping by!
could not get back on WU for awhile, until just now!
Oh well, had a great time yesterday afternoon and evening. We were in pool until late last night..
with the fire pit going and music and plenty of wine!
I think we may have over did the red wine; had a tiny headache this morning but not bad considering.
two cups of coffee took care of it!
Our guest are off doing their appointments and errands for the day; they will be back later this afternoon.
Ellen and the kids are coming over to swim; she called and said they were bouncing off the wall and she wanted to bring them over to wear out some of that energy!
Stacey is out doing his errands so I am enjoying ajust a few minutes of peace and quiet...
Hope you all have a great day.
Was going to give a shout out but maybe a whisper would be better.
Have a great day!
Heard from my mother. She could not leave her neighborhood as West Pensacola, where she lives, had 21.70 inches of rain (officially). This is worst than the March 1979 floods there. Luckily her house is OK.
Got a long stint when I come back over here on my next hitch. Probably 10 or 11 weeks. Looking forward to a nice long vacation when I get back after that one.
:-)
Janet,No at that time yesterday morning everyone was up and rowdy; We were all in the pool. Actually I was in pool all day yesterday. Got a little "sunkissed".
Thanks for stopping by.
Scott, that is just crazy. The thing about our summer rains is one little area can get so much rain so fast. The rain drops are so large they add up quickly.
You can see how dark blue the PC area is on the moisture map. Glad your Mom's home was ok.
Luvz, I forgot.. you are doing work overseas... in Russia? I'll bet that is a change of culture from h ere! Glad you are coming home soon. My soon did a lot of work for FEMA during 2008 first in Texas after Ike then in the NE from the Ice Storm that November. He would be gone for 6-8 weeks both times and it is hard on the family. But the money is worth it. Glad to see you popping back in here at WU!
So Rylee & Nolan and I are going out to breakfast then to Flamingo Gardens. It has been awhile since I've been there and it will be fun for the 3 of us.
Then tonight Rylee is sleeping over; we have a slumber party in the guest bedroom when she sleeps over.
(Poppy has work so he was to get up early so we go to other room for the night.)
And Rylee has been asking me to take her to Butterfly World again...so like the "old days" just she and I are going there tomorrow morning. Nolan will be in his daycare most of tomorrow.
This is the week after school lets out and before summer camps begins that drives working parents crazy.
Why would they not start summer camp the week after school lets out?
Ellen is lucky, I will have Rylee today and tomorrow then the other Grandma took off Thur & Fri.
For us it works out but those parents that do not have family help it is hard. I know where I work those parents just try to get vacation work that week; but without seniority that is hard to do sometimes.
Anyway, going to be a fun two days with me and the kids!
You know I will have pictures.
You enjoy your day.
Be sure to get our grown little girl Rylee in lots of pics at Butterfly World. It will be fun to compare the old pictures with her now. Just enjoy.
I am sure your guests will enjoy Epoct. It is gonna be really hot here but there are plenty of places where they can cool off. Now rain until tomorrow.
Have fun with Rylee tomorrow, I am sure you will :)
Would you believe that Rob is 51 years old today???
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROB!!!
Birthday Party at RobDaHoods blog. :)
And a Happy Birthday to RobDaHood!
Supposed to be 106 tomorrow. Looking forward to another change. :-D
Had a scorpion try to crawl up my leg this morning. Persistent little critters. By the time I got my camera out of the bag to take a shot he disappeared. Haven't felt anything crawling around in my coveralls yet or in my boots. Hopefully he just ran off. ;)
Thanks!
and thanks to those who posted on my blog!
LOL
The last time I had a scorpion crawling on me I don't think "where is the camera" even entered my mind!

Glad your mom's place (and your mom) are okay.
That's a whole lotta water!
