Actually, honeybees can be nasty, so I'll keep my distance, and yellowjackets, *forget it*, I try to stay *far* away from them, but bumblebees seem to be almost friendly. They'll fly close to me (hence being able to get the shots in-flight) either ignoring me whilst doing what they're doing, else they'll seem to express some curiosity about me and buzz right near me eyeballing me the whole time.
It's "scary" when they surprise the crap outta you by flying right close to your ear, but other than that, just hold still, and they'll be on their merry way soon enough.
I went back there and saw a *lot* of bees duking it out in midair. Literally chasing each other, bonking into each other... it was kinda funny to watch.

Unless you really bother or tamper with it's nest a bumble bee won't sting you, the sting has no barbs so it can sting more than once!
