Interesting timing in capturing the waterspout before the funnel was fully formed. It clearly goes to the surface because you can see the water/debris cloud on the surface of the water. Great pic.

The middle keys of Florida have to be the one location on earth with the most waterspouts.

Late May - early August is peak season for them there.

This looks to be a rather intense one. Great capture. Looks rather close to that cruise ship. Bet someone on that ship got some amazing photos.

SteveRose...that is not a Cruise ship. That is a house on a private island just off shore. The water spout went right over it.
