Small storms were along a cool front draped from ne to sw across the state. An occaisional cloud to cloud would pass over head and terminate in the vacinity my camera was oriented to the southeast. When this flash occoured it had been about 20 minutes since the last decent flash was visible on the outside of the clouds. This was actually the second burst like this in the same area. The first can be seen in the second photo in this series. I was focused farther to the south and just caught the western edge of the burst. Thunder that night was pretty continuous like music to me really, coming from all around. I love nights like these.

I remember counting seconds between strikes and thunder, they ranged from 18 seconds to 40. The first crackle from this strike was at least 40 seconds putting the actual event 4 to 5 miles away.
